My name is William. I go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I have got Maths, Art, Reading, Music and Sport. We do sums at Maths lessons. At Sport lessons we run, jump and play games. At Music lessons we sing songs and play music. Children like running, jumping, plaything games and singing songs. I don't like Sport. My favourite days are Thursday and Friday. I have got English and Art lessons on these days. English is my favorite lesson. I like speaking and reading English. I like singing English songs. I like painting. My friend doesn't like Art. He doesn't like painting. On Saturday and Sunday children don't go to school.

CARRYING AN UMBRELLA

The umbrella was brought to England from the East in the eighteenth century. It was used in the East as a protection against the sun. In England it was used more as a protection against the rain. The English people liked the umbrella very much. Later they put up a monument to the first man who appeared in the streets of London with an umbrella.

        Of course, you can go out without an umbrella in rainy weather if you put on a raincoat, but our story today is about an umbrella. Here it is.

        One day a man was walking in the street when he saw a little boy carrying an umbrella.

        “Little boy,” said the man, “why are you carrying that umbrella over your head? It is not raining and the sun isn’t shining”.

        “When it rains,” answered the boy, “dad wants it. I can use it only when the weather is good”.

     I like playing football and swimming. I play football with my friends at school. Every Sunday I go to the swimming pool with my dad. I have got many toys: cars, planes, balls, robots, but my favourite toy is a kite. I like to go to the park with my family. We have a picnic and fly a kite. That’s really funny!

     Carol is seven. She has got many dolls. She likes playing with her dolls. My sister also has a big doll-house. Carol has got a nice little kitten Snow. It is really white as snow. Snow likes to sleep and to play with a little ball. Carol feeds Snow every day. The kitten likes meat, fish and milk.
