The Present Simple (Indefinite) Tense

Теперішній простий (неозначений) час

       Ми використовуєму цю часову форму, коли розповідаємо про події, які відбуваються постійно, йдуть одна за одною. Також коли повідомляється загальновідомий факт.

        В цій часовій формі ми використовуємо дієслово без to. У третій особі однини (he, she, it) до дієслова додаємо закінчення –s, -es.

I play. – He plays.                           You go to school. – She goes to school.

We read. – Mary reads.                  They swim in summer. – My sister swims in  summer.

       Щоб утворити заперечну форму, використовуємо do not (don’t), а в третій особі однини (he, she, it) does not (doesn’t). Пам’ятайте, що після допоміжного дієслова does основне дієслово втрачає закінчення.

do+not=don’t I  live  in  Lviv. I  do  not  live  in  Lviv. ( I, we,  they,  you)

does+not=doesn’t He  goes  to  school  every  day. He  does not  go  to  school  every  day. (He,  she,  it)

Щоб утворити запитання, поставимо допоміжні слова do, does попереду речення.

-  We  skate  in  winter.                                       She  plays  tennis  in  summer.

  Do  we  skate  in  winter?                                 Does     she   play  tennis  in  summer?

  Yes,  we  do.  No,  we  don’t.                            Yes,  she  does.  No,  she  doesn’t.

Утворіть заперечні та питальні речення за зразком.

We  like  books  about children.                         He  plays  in  the  yard  in  the  evening.

We  don’t  like  books  about  children.            He doesn’t  play  in  the  yard  in  the  evening.

Do  we  like  books  about  children?                Does  he  play  in   the  yard  in  the  evening?

They  go  to  the  park  every  Sunday.               She  helps  her  mother  about  the  house.

We  speak  English  at  school.                            Tom  reads  English  books.
